The Advant Controller 460 is optionally 1:1redundant and has a high-speed processorand backplane that allow many functionsto execute in a single controller module. Itcan contain up to three redundant pairs ofmodules, thereby reducing the footprinWith 1:1 redundancy, the backup CPUruns in parallel with the primary CPU, mirroring and updating the database, so thatin the event of failure, control functionsare transferred to the backup CPU. Thefailure is indicated to the operator and thefailed card can be removed and replacedwhile the system is operating Advant OCS with MOD 300 Software provides three powerful control languagepackages. Configurable Control Functions,Taylor Control Language and TaylorLadder Logic provide optimal implementation approaches in the areas of continuouscontrol, discrete device control, supervisorcontrol, sequential and batch control, andhigh speed interlock logic control.Applications developed on other AdvantOCS subsystems can be executed on theAdvant Controller. The ability to mix,match and execute these control strategiessimultaneously, in common hardware,offers uncompromising versatility to meettoday’s processing requirements
