S900stellt Ein-/ Ausgangsmodule zur Verfügung, die für den eigensicheren Anschlussder Feldsignale erforderlich sind. In den S900-Modulen werden die Feldsignaledigitalisiert und galvanisch getrennt über einen internen Bus bereitgestellt.Ein Buskoppler übernimmt die Umsetzung dieser Signale in das standardisierteFeldbus-protokoll Profi bus DP V1. Übergeordnete Prozessleitsysteme,speicherprogrammierbare Steuerungen oder SCADA-Systeme kommunizieren überdiesen ebenfalls eigensicher ausgeführten Feldbus mit dem Buskoppler. Die Konfiguration der einzelnen S900-Stationen, der zyklische Datenaustausch sowie alleazyklischen Dienste und die Kommunikation mit HART-Feldgeräten werden über einund das selbe Feldbusnetzwerk abgewickelt. Bei der Installation und Instandhaltungist der schnelle Austausch aller Ein-/Ausgangsmodule rasch durchführbar: Moduleund die wahlweise redundanten Buskoppler können in allen S900-Serien imlaufenden Betrieb getauscht werden. Integrierte, gekapselte Abschaltmechanismenerlauben den Austausch der Netzteile ebenfalls unter Spannung. Mit seinerplatzsparenden, robusten Ausführung sowie dem Schutz vor Umwelteinfl üssen istdas S900 Remote I/O System die bevorzugte Lösung für den direkten,kostensparenden Vororteinsatz in den ExZonen 1 oder 2 oder auch innicht-Ex-Bereichen.
