Description

It is very important after completing this procedure to load andrun the calibration program on the Boot Disk 4. This is done by inserting BootDisk 4 (article number 3HAB2312-2/rev#) and pressing: PROGRAM FILE OPEN Selectthe directory: SERVICE, press ENTER, then CALIBRAT, press ENTER, then selectthe appropriate file name. Example: For an IRB 6400 the appropriate file nameis “cal6400.prg”. Press OK. Then start the program and answer the questions foryour robot. This information can be found on the tag next to the maindisconnect.

After loading systemsoftware, the resolver counter revolutions must be updated. The robot does notknow where it is and must be told by updating these counters. 1. Move the robotto the calibration position using the joystick. Each axis may be moved andupdated individually, except for Axis three. Axis three's position depends onaxis two’s position. Always have Axis two in position before moving axis threeinto position. IMPORTANT: Axis 6 has no hard stops. This means that when arobot is not updated, axis six is allowed to rotate endlessly. However, therevolution counter will only be correct at one position and being multiple axisrevolutions off won’t work correctly.
