Introduction
Drive Customizer is a PC tool thatallows a drive to be totally customisedto an OEM’s needs. OEMs can developversions of the ABB firmware thatmatches their application exactly. Toolallows changes to access levels (createown passwords for different users),changes to parameter or menuvisibilities. It is possible to edit andalter any text within the drive fromparameter names, menu names, faultand warning messages etc. Companylogos can be added to the keypad.Custom specific macros can begenerated for parameter edits, orcustom start-up scripts to allowguided commissioning. The newfirmware can be loaded into the drivewithout having to power it up, using aspecial “cold configuration” tool.
Cabinet drives for the ABB general purpose, ACS580, nowranges from 75 kW to 500 kW. The complete range is builtinto two cabinet size variants: 75 kW to 250 kW and 250 kW to500 kW. The smaller powers feature a new “dirty air”configured cooling path, removing the need for input filtersfor the IP55 variant, thereby reducing cost and the need tomaintain the filters. As with the larger power cabinets, theuser can select from a range of optional extras.
The ATEX package offering is further enhanced, with theATEX approval of the ABB general purpose drive, ACS580.Together with the ABB industrial drive, ACS880, the ACS580has the certified STO and PTC option so that the mostappropriate drive can now be chosen for any givenapplication.
