Description


The Allen-Bradley 1756-IH16I is a sink/source digital input module with 16 individually isolated inputs available. It requires a 36-pin RTB, or removable terminal block housing, of either the 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H before it can be connected to a compatible ControlLogix chassis. This module features per point isolation and displays the module health and input and communication status. The 1756-IH16I has an operating voltage range of 90 to 146 Volts DC and a voltage category of 125 Volts DC. It has a current draw of 125 milliamps at 5.1 Volts and 3 milliamps at 24 Volts. The 1756-IH16I has a total backplane power of 0.71 Watts, a maximum inrush current of 250 milliamps, a maximum power dissipation of 5 Watts at 60 Degrees Celsius, and a thermal dissipation of 17.05 BTU/hour. Isolation is continuous between inputs at 250 Volts. During an off-state, the 1756-IH16I has a maximum voltage of 20 Volts DC and a maximum current of 0.8 milliamps. The on-state current ranges from 1 milliamps at 90 Volts DC to 3 milliamps at 146 Volts DC. The on-state voltage range, however, varies and they are as follows: 90 to 46 Volts DC at 50 Degrees Celsius, 12 channels ON, 90 to 132 Volts DC at 55 Degrees Celsius, 14 channels on, 90 to 125 Volts DC at 60 Degrees Celsius, 16 channels on, and 90 to 146 Volts DC at 30 Degrees Celsius, 16 channels on. The module has a screw to backplane input delay time as it moves from one state to the other. From 'off' to 'on', the input delay time is the hardware delay of 2 milliseconds max plus the user-selectable filter time (either 0, 1, or 2 milliseconds), while from 'on' to 'off', it is the hardware delay of 6 max plus the user-selectable filter time (either 0, 1, 2, 9, or 18 milliseconds).
