The Allen-Bradley 1769-L31 controller is an Allen-Bradley 1769 series modular controller. The user memory available on the 1769-L31 controller is 512 KB. The 1769-L31 controller supports the 1785-CF64 and the 1785-CF128 CompactFlash cards. Two RS-232 serial ports are provided on the controller, and they are the fully isolated Channel 0 that supports DF1 and DH-485 communication and a maximum data rate of 38.4 kbps, and the non-isolated Channel 1 supports DF1 and DH-485 communication and a maximum data rate of 38.4 kbps. Category 2 wire is recommended for use with the communication ports on the controller. The 1769-L31 controller supports sixteen 1769-series modules and 3 I/O banks at a time. The power supply distance rating for the controller is 4. The backplane current rating is 40 milliamps at 24 Volts DC and 330 milliamps at 5 Volts DC.
The 1769-L31 controller power dissipation rating is 2.61 Watts. A controller like this in a ControlLogix system must be the leftmost module in the first bank of the control system.
