Description

The I/O module scanning and scheduled transmit preparationroutines have been optimized. Previously, certain combinations ofconnection quantity and NUT duration would cause these routinesto run more frequently than necessary, resulting in significantloading of the CPU in the adapter.

The 1794-AENTR and 1794-AENTRXT adapters use the Control andInformation Protocol (CIP). CIP is the application layer protocol specified forEtherNet/IP, the Ethernet Industrial Protocol, as well as for ControlNet andDeviceNet. It is a message-based protocol that implements a relative path to senda message from the producing device in a system to the consuming devices.The producing device contains the path information that steers the messagealong the proper route to reach its consumers. Since the producing device holdsthis information, other devices along the path simply pass this information; theydo not need to store it.
