Description

The Allen-Bradley 1757-SRM is a ProcessLogix and ControlLogix System Redundancy Module. This module enables Controller Redundancy by pairing with another 1756-SRM from another ControlLogix chassis. This module is a Two (2) slot module with integrated Fiber Optic port compatible for 62.5/125 micron multi-mode fiber-optic cable with SC connector.

You can use an external switchbox connected to a user relay on the 1757-SRMseries B module to determine which Logix controller you will attach to theother RS232 devices on the serial link. You must assemble an externalswitchbox to direct serial port devices to one controller of a pair of redundantLogix controllers. Rockwell Automation does not supply the externalswitchbox with the modules.This example illustrates a connection scheme, with one single-poledouble-throw switch for each RS232 signal. The external power supply outputshould not exceed the ratings of the external switchbox coil.
