Output Owner Priority Structure


Output ModeWith FoxCom transmitters, specify your output as Digital or Analog. Specify Analog if youwant an analog 4 to 20 mA signal. In this mode, a 600 baud digital signal is superimposed overthe 4 to 20 mA signal for communication with a PC-Based Configurator. Specify Digital if youwant to have a 4800 baud digital signal for I/A Series system communication.If you selected Digital on your FoxCom transmitter or with a fieldbus transmitter, specifyUnidirectional (UniDir) or BiDirectional (BiDir) flow. If you want a pulse output, you mustspecify Unidirectional. The default setting is UniDir.


The IMT25 can provide digital measurement values, an analog output, and a pulse output. Eachof these output signals usually reflects the live process measurement. However, under specialcircumstances, a higher priority “owner” can control these outputs.For example, the AutoZeroLock Detector or the manual Signal Lock function can lock all of theoutputs to the Zero flow condition. Alternately, you can manually preset (or override) each of theoutputs. Similarly, diagnostic and alarm conditions can cause the analog and pulse outputs to beforced to the configured “failure” setting.In addition, the analog and pulse outputs are forced to the Zero flow condition when thetransmitter is taken off-line for configuration using the optional keypad/display. Also, the analogoutput is frozen at 4.0 mA if the transmitter is configured for multi-drop operation of the HARTcommunications output.
