Digital I/O

The Universal Relay (UR) is a family of leadingedge protection and control products builton a common modular platform. All URproducts feature high-performance protection,expandable I/O options, integrated monitoringand metering, high-speed communications,and extensive programming and configurationcapabilities. The UR forms the basis of simplifiedpower management for the protection of criticalassets, either as a stand-alone device or withinan overall power automation system.

Up to 120 contact inputs (with utility voltagerating up to 250V), and up to 72 contactoutputs, are available and can be used tomonitor and control a wide range of auxiliaryequipment found within a substation or otherprotection application. Types of digital I/Ocards include trip-rated Form-A, Form-C, FastForm-C, latching and Solid State Relay (SSR),with or without DC voltage, current monitoringand isolated inputs (with auto burnish feature).Mechanically latching outputs can be used todevelop secure interlocking applications andreplace mechanical switches and lockout relays.Form-A digital outputs have activation speedsof less than 4ms and both wet and dry contactsare supported.

Solid state output modules with high currentbreaking capability, fast tripping and reset timeare ideal for direct tripping applications.
