Description

Design ofthe HIMA level crossing monitoring system shall include monitoring and loggingof operation of the level crossing, visual and audible warning, whereapplicable boom barriers and/or pedestrian gates, primary power supply, batterytesting, test switch, train detection system and remote alarming. 

a) Designshall minimise the risk of interfering with the systems being monitored. 

b) Designersof a HIMA monitoring system should consult ARTC design standards, Levelcrossing standards and AS 7718 Signal Design Process Management. 

c)Application Logic Design Specification (ALDS) should be developed for projectsusing the HIMA as a level crossing monitoring device. d) All generated datadocumentation must contain the CRCs for all used function blocks.
