Why machine protection andprocess monitoring?

Faulty settings and process parameters orwrong tools can lead to crash situationsbetween components and tool spindle, tohigh strain of the spindle (increased wear)or to bad quality. This results in highconsequential costs, a shortened lifetimeand rejects.Solution with efector octavis:The permanent measurement and evaluation of different vibration characteristicsenables ideal monitoring and diagnosticsof the tool spindle.Based on the dynamic increase in power,crash situations are detected in time anddisplayed. The switching output can reactto the crash within a millisecond in orderto minimise or even avoid consequentialdamage.The integration of the vibration monitoringinto the machine control via the fieldbusinterface enables an ideal adjustment ofthe evaluation (adjustment of the alarmthresholds, suppression of characteristicvalues that cannot be evaluated duringprocessing, e.g. spindle bearing) to thecurrent operating status of the machine.
