Introduction

The 7-segment display on the CPU module is the first resource whichpermits rough troubleshooting. Depending on the error type, instead ofthe configured CPU number, a symbol is displayed which classifies theerror. The first error which was identified, is displayed, flashing. Afterbeing acknowledged with the red button on the CPU module, the errorcode of the next error which was identified, is then displayed. Thesequence in which these error codes are displayed depends on thepriority of the error.In addition to the displayed symbols in the CPU 7-segment display,detailed error information is saved in the central RAM area of the CPUmodule. These data areas are designated system error fields.The system error fields, described here are called INIT_ERR andSYS_ERR.Hardware-related error information is coded in the system error fieldINIT_ERR.The various software components (operating system, communications,monitor, user, ...) enter their error information in the SYS_ERR systemerror field.
