Processor and Arithmetic Unit

The processor executes the statements of the user program. The arithmetic unit consists of tworegisters, accumulators 1 and 2, and the condition codes. All arithmetic operations are processed inthe accumulators. The condition codes provide information on unusual events during an arithmeticoperation, such as violations of the permissible value range.

Description

SIMATIC operator panels are connected to MPI through the CS7communication module and the SS52 communication module.Several operator panels can be operated on the MPI bus.The user programs the function and display of the operator panels using the ProTool/ Lite SIMATIC tool. This means, for example, that several process quantities can be monitored andchanged.Commands can be entered, the SIMADYN D clock time can beset and displayed using function keys.Operating and fault messages can be defined in the OP usingthe user data areaHigh-performance serial couplings are implemented(PROFIBUS DP, Industrial Ethernet, fiber-optic cable subrackcoupling) using the communication modules (CS..) and the communication sub-modules which can be inserted on them.It is important to especially mention the CS7 carrier module. Upto three communication modules, type SS4 (for DUST/USS protocols) or SS52 (for PROFIBUS DP) can be plugged-onto theCS7.A SIMOLINK master interface ITSL is directly plugged onto oneof the CPU modules.
