The modular I/O system called BL67 isdesigned to implement tailor-made IP67solutions which, until today, requiredinstallation in a separate mountingcabinet. Flexibility at all levels of automationis the prime consideration.The BL67 gateway makes the modulesindependent of the type of fieldbusused. It controls the entire datacommunication between the fieldbus andthe I/O modules. The gateway furtherensures the system power supply.The electronic modules are capable ofhot-swapping, i.e., they can be replacedduring operation. They can be removedand plugged during load-free operationwithout having to disconnect the fieldwiring. The 24 VDC field supply is eitherprovided via the gateway or the powerfeeding modules.The base modules offer a choice of different connection technologies (M8, M12,M16, M23 and 7/8‘‘) and can be mounteddirectly on the machine or via DIN rail.Bus independence, accurate systemplanning, robustness and compactnessare the advantages of this system.
