Mode Memory

The mode memory stores the information that determines howeach input is to be handled. Each input can be set for one ofthree modes: totalization, frequency or period. The mode for aninput can be set so that the circuitry counts on either the rising or falling part of the signal. The frequency mode can be setfor three ranges and the period mode can be set for one of sixranges.The mode memory occupies one-half of an 8 x 16 memoryarray. The other half is the data valid memory. The array storesthe information here necessary to decide if the data valid bitshould be set or not.
