Fire and Gas Safety Solution

Honeywell Safety Manager™ provides an approved Fire and Gas Safety Solutionthat covers Safety Instrumented System requirements as part of the MitigationSafety Layer described in the IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and ANSI/ISA S84.01standards.

Safety Manager fire and gas safety system is designed to detect hazards likefires or gas leakage’s in a fast and accurate way by using connections of a 10004/H/Fwiderange of F&G detector devices. 10004/H/FOn detection system will perform the appropriatesafety actions automatically and will alert about the detected hazard(s) in mostefficient way.

Safety Manager supports standard connection of Fire and Gas detector devicesof most major F&G field device suppliers. The supported connections are provenin use and/or are fully tested as part of the MVIP test program. 10004/H/FFor signalhandling inside Safety Manager of these connected F&G devices, 10004/H/Fspecial functionblocks are developed to create an optimum response from these devices.For connection of the devices special interfaces are developed to achieve theoptimum connection.

In the Safety Manager Guides an approved basic Fire and Gas Safety applicationis included. This application provides a Fire and Gas Safety Solution that caneasily be integrated into Honeywell’s Experion™ PKS, Honeywell’s TotalPlantSolution (TPS) system or into Honeywell’s PlantScape system. The basicapplication can be developed and adjusted easily to design a project specific Fireand Gas Safety Solution. 

The integrated layer of the F&G solution within Experion, TPS or PlantScapecontains the integrated alarm listing and safety historian functionality thatrecords all detected alarms, all actions initiated by the F&G Safety system andall actions executed by this system or connected integrated sub-systems. Thislayer also shows the actual situation of the F&G application by using overallplant displays and various detailed area displays that contain locations andactual status of all connected F&G field detectors.
